As the bump gets bigger (and bigger) I've turned my attention to all things baby these days. One of the things I feel quite strongly about are toys for the baby, i'd like to keep things minimal, wooden, no plastic and education focused. So when I received these wonderful animal wooden toys in the post yesterday, they really hit the nail on the head for me. These will definitely go in my future son's toy box. Gino
"The zebras on the red walls at this restaurant have been mesmerizing kids since it opened in 1945." Gino - a gem of a place, they have good no fuss Italian food, good prices and a colourful staff and clientele! It is pure old school. I took my sister there a few nights ago, it was good fun. Thanks to my newly married friend S for introducing me to my new favorite place in town.
Check out this great wallpaper, I would love to do use this for our dining room.
The entrance, love the yellow doors.

Good news
My twin sister, rather unexpectedly, is coming to NYC next week for work. It is definitely something wonderful to look forward to after the long weekend. She works part time for a fantastic non profit called, Right to Play.

Nursery inspiration
I've been collecting images and inspiration for our nursery lately. We are thinking about a nice butter yellow for the walls, and Dwell Studio for Target has some nice looking cribs and changing table, and we plan on taking lots of cues from the image below.
A teepee & colorful mobiles are must haves.
I love these built in bookshelves, perfect reach for a little reader.
I love the idea of this wall map of the world.
Decals of animals are great. Love this giraffe.
A crib like this and a giraffe like that, are you seeing a theme here?
Apologies for not noting the source of the images, in my search for inspiration I neglected to catalogue the source. If you see something that is familiar, please let me know.

What a peach!
I'm getting into baking as the weather drops into low numbers, must be the warmth from the oven I'm seeking ....or the comfort of the food! Check out this peach crisp from Gourmet, delish!

Happy Friday
We have light snow flurries in New York right now and the weather is meant to get very chilly this weekend. We are planning on staying warm and cosy this weekend. I could get used to a home in the mountains like the one below.

A view from a Bridge
Last night Conor and I (rather spontaneously) went to see A View from a Bridge, a classic Arthur Miller play starring Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schreiber. I think the fact that Scarlett was in it sealed the deal for Conor! It was brilliant, gripping and Liev was amazing as Eddie Carbone.
