A pretty room...

Granny chic

I've been deferring to my mother over the past few weeks over window treatments for our apartment. I really like this type of fabric....I love the whole Granny Chic thing.

I love this photo because it makes me

want to hit the back roads...

Artist of the day is...

Elizabeth Peyton. I really like the style, and the realism of her work. She is an American contemporary painter who rose to popularity in the mid 1990s. Best known for stylized and idealized portraits of her close friends, pop celebrities, and European monarchy.

A very relaxing...

chair for our house upstate...would look nice in our back garden.

When I heard about the cyclone that hit Burma and the devastion it wrought, I was deeply saddened.
I was lucky enough to visit Burma and found it to be a magical place.
Below is a link about how you can help.

It is raining here in...

New York and on days like these I like to listen to Miles...Kind of Blue.

We spent a wonderful few days...

at Morgan's Rock in Nicaragua. An ecolodge that was very special. Our first evening we witnessed hatching sea turtles, and helped guide them to the sea.

This shell on the wall is so...

chic, shell chic! I love it.

A blue view...

from our first morning in East Bali the light was so blue.

A cool cocktail invite was sent to me from...

...my good friend in Asia. I just loved it.

I completely have a crush on...

Obama. Stop the drama, vote OBAMA.

A lovely..

"tablescape" with my favorite flowers, Peonies.

I absolutely loved this...

movie, Caramel. A beautiful and at times heart wrenching look into the lives of four women in a Beirut beauty salon, all trying to navigate their own versions of love.

My book of the week is..

What I loved. I read it in two sittings. There are some beautiful lines in this heartbreaking book that chronicles the lives of two New York families.

After many years living in Asia, I grew to admire...

aboriginal art, mainly for its utter simplicity and composition. This is from an artist called Lucy LooMoo.

Today I am dreaming about being in...

...Buenos Aires. A place I have always wanted to visit.

What I love today...

is this whimsical chandelier hanging from a tree. What a way to add a bit of chic glamour to a garden party.
