Le Balloon Rouge

Do any of you remember Le Balloon Rouge? I loved this movie as a little girl and distinctly remember watching it one day during grade school, many many years ago. Here is a clip, have a watch if you have time. Seen on this lovely blog

Stripes

I am loving stripes these days, they have a nice chic, yet fun style about them. The below are are called "Organic Easy Traveling Mattress" from here.
This image just makes me want to drink lemonade and read the paper! From Country Home Ideas.

I am loving this stripe combination, although don't think I would have the nerve to carry it off!
From Jackson, Johnston & Roe (check them out) here
I'm a big fan of awnings, especially striped ones, they remind me of Asia. Seen on Decorno.

A chair and a lamp

I am loving these chaise lounge style chairs from Zoe, they just look so comfortable and casual and chic all at the same time.

This lamp is from designer Pieke Bergmans, he has created what i think is a magical object. I love the optical illusion of this lamp...matched with the chairs, you've got a pretty unique setting! Visit Pieke Bergman's site and give yourself a treat.

It's a wrap.

Friday again, and it is sunny and warm in New York City! A few things get your weekend going. xoxo Last night C and i went to see Morrisey at Carnegie Hall, although we aren't massive fans, C, scored free tickets so we checked it out. Little did we know we would LOVE it, the Courteeners from Manchester opened, and then Morrisey came on and the house went truly mad. I really love his voice and seeing a truly professional musician perform is always magic. Here is a clip.
A gorgeous shot of spring from the lovely blog, design is mine.

White Kitchens

Some gorgeous, well organized white kitchens.
I really like the open shelves look and it makes it easier to find everything too!
I like the flow in this kitchen and the counters really pop against the white.
The windows in this kitchen are really to die for!
I like the cupboards here and the butcher block counter tops all work together.

Visiting Olana

This past weekend we had a house full of guests upstate and took them all to see the Hudson Valley home of the late Artist, Frederic Church, called Olana. The Moorish architecture and the attention to detail is stunning. I only have exterior photos, but the website www.olana.org has plenty of information and photos.
PS for those of you with children, it was a hit for all ages.
The attention to detail was amazing, just look at that roof!

Each doorway had a different tile motif.

The tiles were a work of art in themselves.

Moorish and Persian architecture in abundance.

Happy Weekend xoxo

Friday again, and believe it or not, it was snowing here in New York! Here are some random thoughts and images to get the weekend started. See you Monday.xoxo
A lovely series of "lucky" images from Kiss the Paper.

Dinosaur designs are known for their fantastic resin jewellery designs. Starting out with a shop in Sydney, they have since opened in New York.

A very blue morning in East Bali.
A cool invite from my friend Abie, when I was living in Singapore. I love the invite:
Cocktails...because we can...
I love the contrast of this rather glamorous chandelier against the the tree-not a bad idea! From Domino

Destiny Dawson's photographs always put a smile on my face.
